About the Event
Whisky is made from only three ingredients: Barley, water and yeast.
The imagery of Whisky is being built around the idea of provenance, as much as 80% of the flavours actually comes from maturation, and the rest from distillation and fermentation.
What about the barley?
Digging deeper into the scene, you will find that they barley varieties are selected for their alcoholic yield, instead of flavours. Furthermore, there are only a handful of distilleries that does malting on their own, where the rest is all being done in colossal central maltings, providing the barley for the majority of scotch distilleries.
Join us to explore the possibility of small scale production, and distilleries who showcases their uniqueness in farming practices that shines through in the drams.
This tasting will be run virtually through our Discord server and will cost £12 for members and £17 for non-members.
*£1 discount will be applied if you have brought you full empty tasting pack back from the previous tasting (Whisky 102).

(Please note that in order to keep the same standard of tastings from previous years, the committee has made the decision to slightly raise ticket prices for virtual tastings in order to cover costs of packaging and distribution of sample packs)
